Carers Careline would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for getting behind the Redditch based charity, who for the past 26 years have been working to support informal and unpaid carers in the town who are over the age of 18.
The charity has just been awarded the top prize of £3000 from the Lloyds Community Fund, which invited local residents to vote for their chosen charity from 4 local good causes between 2nd September and 10th October this year either by placing a coin in the boxes in the local branch of Lloyds in Church Green West, voting on line and through Twitter. The Lloyds Community Fund is an annual campaign set up by the banking group to give out awards to charities in various regions throughout the country.
Wendy Pickford, Chief Officer at Carers Careline said ‘We are absolutely delighted to receive this funding as it will allow us to continue to provide valuable support to Redditch carers. Thank you to everyone who supported us’.
Carers Careline support their carers by offering information and advice, signposting, training, social groups, events and activities, telephone support, drop-in, counselling and bereavement support. We are a completely self-funding organisation supported at present mainly by The Big Lottery Fund, Redditch Borough Council and other Trusts.
