MBH patron Jo Brand raised an incredible £9,700 for us when we shared her comedy evening with the Courtyard Theatre, which she is also a patron of.

“It’s no secret that I’ve always had a soft spot for Herefordshire – what’s not to like about all that fresh air, green fields and rolling hills ... not forgetting the bullocks, of course!  I’m also patron of several charities in your lovely county, including Megan Baker House (MBH) which does amazing work for children and adults with motor disabilities, through conductive education, with no statutory support events of this nature are so important  and The Courtyard – a top example of a thriving regional arts centre doing loads of community projects .

I’ve been proud to support both charities for many years now and, although tragically busy with my day job, including my TV series Damned – I do my ‘damnedest’ to squeeze in support for all the charities I’m associated with. That’s why I was back again at The Courtyard on Wednesday, 24 May doing two comedy gigs back to back at 6.30pm and 8.30pm in the evening (how daft was that!) – to help maximise the fundraising for both of these great charities on the night.  So thank you to everyone who came to see me, as it’s a long drive from London and I didn’t want to be conversing with one man and his dog in the front row although that might be right up Hereford’s street ... it was lovely to see so many people there!” quote from Jo.
