3 years ago local volunteers transformed a pocket of wasteland on a Droitwich estate into a Community Garden. National Lottery funding helped to further boost the transformation and 3 years later, it is still blooming!

The volunteers there are as hardy as the plants they tend but they are need of a little help – can your business step up and make a difference?
The pictures show the transformation that has taken place. The garden is a real focus for all ages within the local community. There is an Adults Gardening club and a Kids Club that meet regularly. They garden links with local schools who come and plant in the raised beds, and the local scout groups come along and use the produce to practice camp stove cooking.
The Droitwich Foodbank have also benefited from the garden sharing the fresh produce with local people in need and selling what’s left at a local church to help them raise money.
The garden has won awards from the Royal Horticultural Society and continues to score highly and be rated as ‘Outstanding’.
The problem they have is that the volunteers are struggling to stay on top of the physical work, and the weeds in particular. So they’re in need of weed busting support to come and help! A one off weeding blitz will be just as welcome as a regular session – the choice is yours!
Perhaps you can spare a few staff for a morning, or day, in the spring to help us prepare the garden for the growing season? Or even spare an hour every week or two to help keep on top of things during the Summer?
If you are interested in helping us in any way you can, please call Chris Colley, community Officer at Fortis Living on 01905 670271 or email
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
