CHAMPAGNE POL ROGER RELEASE THE OUTSTANDING BRUT VINTAGE 2008

Home / News & Opportunities / Member News

Date: 13/03/2017

On Thursday 9th February 2017, in the intimate and secluded oasis of Perk’s Field, Kensington Palace, the Champagne Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2008 was launched to an audience of press, trade and notable guests.

Currently the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kensington Palace was a suitably spectacular setting to match the release of this landmark vintage. Champagne Pol Roger was first awarded a Royal Warrant in 1877 by Queen Victoria and is now one of the few houses to hold a Royal Warrant for supplying Her Majesty The Queen.

The 2008 harvest was characterised by outstanding conditions in the vineyard; the grapes were healthy, and the balance of sugar and acidity, perfect. All indications thus far suggest that the champagne will reflect the qualities of this remarkable vintage and the family believe it will rival the iconic vintages in the house’s history. Indeed, it promises to be one of the top twelve vintages since the house’s foundation in 1849.
