Avoncroft Museum invites Bromsgrove to prepare for Christmas in the traditional way at its special Candlelit Christmas evening on Saturday 3rd December.
Setting the scene for a traditional English Christmas, Avoncroft Museum will be hosting an evening of festive activities, entertainments and refreshments.
The whole museum will be getting into the Christmas spirit between 7-10pm, with Christmas lights throughout the site, and costumed re-enactors in the historic buildings preparing for Christmas in the traditional way.
Entertainments include every kind of festive music from choirs, brass bands and jazz to organ music and bell ringing, while audiences can enjoy the spectacles of a stilt-walking fire performer, a magic lantern show and Morris dancing. For younger visitors Father Christmas will also be here!
A Christmas Fayre will be held in The stunning Guesten Hall selling local produce and handmade items, while the museum shop will be open selling unique gifts, gift vouchers and Museum memberships. Visitors can try their hand at wreath-making and see a glass baubles being blown in the Blacksmiths forge.
Hungry visitors will be able to enjoy seasonal treats such as mulled cider and mulled wine, mince pies, chestnuts, hog roast, and sweets from the vintage sweet shop.
Avoncroft Museum’s Candlelit Christmas takes place on Saturday 3rd December, 7pm-10pm. Tickets cost £8 for adults and £5 for children. Reduced rates are available for Avoncroft members.
