A survey conducted in July showed that many people view Business Direction as a useful resource for their business, with 47% of respondents saying they had contacted another business as a result of something they had read.

The majority of respondents said they regularly read the magazine, with 88% of respondents saying that they valued being featured in the magazine. The results for the magazine’s appearance and written content were extremely positive: nearly 90% described the appearance as very good or excellent and 94% described the written content as excellent, very good or good.

Respondents were also asked to select which pages of Business Direction were most useful for their business. All pages were selected by some businesses, with Business News being the most popular. Over 50% of respondents said that the Chamber News, Events and the Movers and Shakers pages were useful, whilst 48% selected the magazine’s main features.
Significantly, 59% of respondents said that they had visited the Chamber website or contacted staff about something they had read, whilst 47% said that they had contacted another business. This is an extremely positive result, showing that Business Direction continues to be a quality source of information for businesses.

Companies were asked to select which themes they would like to see in future editions. Skills, Marketing and Digital were the most popular, with Technology, Sustainability and Manufacturing also being ranked highly. Additional suggestions from respondents included Community Engagement, Apprenticeships and Workplace Wellbeing. These responses will be used to formulate the theme plan for 2017.

Rebekah Harris, Marketing Assistant at Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce and Editor, said: “I’m really pleased to receive such positive feedback about Business Direction. These results show that it really is a useful resource for businesses, informing readers about businesses in the area as well as how the Chamber can support local companies. We’ve received some useful comments which will help us to take the magazine forward and ensure that it continues to remain relevant to readers.”
