Businesses in Herefordshire and Worcestershire are invited to a networking breakfast on Thursday 13 October. The event will feature the latest breakdown of results from Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce’s Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) and the opportunity to ask questions about the local business climate to a panel of experts.
The QES, which was conducted nationally in September, received 600 responses from businesses in Herefordshire and Worcestershire, the highest amount to date locally. Such a high number of responses ensures that local business concerns will be heard in government, something which is especially crucial during the uncertainty following Brexit.
Businesses are invited to hear a full breakdown of the results at this month’s Chamber QES breakfast, taking place on Thursday 13 October at Worcestershire County Cricket Club from 7.30-9.30am. After enjoying a full English breakfast and networking, the event will be opened by Mike Ashton, Chief Executive of Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce. There will be a breakdown of the results and attendees will be able to ask questions to a panel of experts; including Mike Ashton; Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership; Ben Mannion, Strategic Development Director at Hewett Recruitment; and Phil Dutton, Branch Manger at Handelsbanken.
The QES provides a detailed overview of the local business climate by focussing on key business indicators, including business sales, exports, recruitment and investment. This quarter, companies were also asked how much influence Brexit has had so far on their investment and recruitment decisions.
The local results for the two counties feed into the British Chambers of Commerce's nationwide QES. The biggest economic survey in the country, the QES is a highly respected and reliable economic indicator monitored closely by organisations such as the Treasury, the Bank of England, the Office for Budget Responsibility and the IMF.
