Despite the headwinds experienced by many businesses in recent months, we continue to hear stories of those who have exported for the first time or are continuing to grow their business through exporting.

Herefordshire and Worcestershire are home to many successful companies and there are a range of opportunities for new and experienced exporters.
Businesses who choose to sell overseas become 34% more productive in their first year, while those already selling overseas achieve 59% faster productivity growth than non-exporters.
It was good to have the Exporting is GREAT truck at the Chamber Business Expo in October. The truck was a hub of activity throughout the day, providing the opportunity for businesses to meet the local Department for International Trade Team (DIT) and find out what opportunities are available.
Last month, several local businesses took part in a Midlands Engine Cyber Mission to Baltimore. There were some fantastic opportunities for local businesses to develop partnerships with American companies and we look forward to the proposed visit from Maryland to the Midlands in Spring 2017.
We continue to hear success stories from local businesses. Ellen Halpin-Barnett, Owner of Luxury Hampers and Gifts Ltd, one of the participants on the Maryland trade mission, successfully sold 200 of her fourth generation Christmas puddings to the British Consulate. Another local business, Franco Florenzi, recently increased its overseas sales by more than £30,000 after it took expert advice to have its website geared up for international markets.
To find out more about how we can support you to grow your business domestically and internationally, join us at an evening event at the MMT Centre for Leadership and Management Development in Broadway on Tuesday 6 December. Here you can learn more about the Department for International Trade’s services and speak to an advisor.

For more information about how the Department for International Trade team can help, contact an advisor on 01905 673 600 or visit the newly  launched, which offers support and advice to help you start exporting, as well as opportunities to sell all over the world.
