Local creative agency drp and its exhibition arm drpexhibition has significantly increased footfall at the annual SPAR Retail Show for retail giants A. F. Blakemore. Hosted at The International Centre in Telford, Wednesday 5th October, the event was attended by a record-breaking 1122 visitors.
won the SPAR retail contract in 2015, footfall has increased by a staggering 100%.
A.F. Blakemore and Sons Ltd is a leading food retail, wholesale and distribution company established in the U.K. in 1917. It is the largest of five separate regional wholesale distribution centres for SPAR U.K., and they own 300 SPAR stores in England and Wales. The annual conference, guild dinner and tradeshow event provides suppliers with the opportunity to showcase new products and initiatives to independent SPAR retailers.
The most interactive stand was a true replica of a SPAR shop, built to look and feel like the visitors were taking a visit to one of their stores, which included real-life Costa Coffees, fruit, fridges and brands that were exhibiting that day. The event also included live cooking sessions, and an extensive range of one-off deals that could be purchased via an online app – created by the drp
digital team and used for the first time in 2015.
A record number of 190 individual brands (suppliers of the SPAR stores) took spaces at the exhibition. drp
looked after all the exhibitors and project-managed the event, as well as produced digital, design, video, print, live graphics and tech collateral for the show.
