Welcome to the first blog post by the Chamber Events team!
First and foremost, it is worth letting everybody who doesn’t already know, our Head of Events, Helen Mole, is on maternity leave for the next few months and has entrusted things (blog included!) to Olivia Williams and myself, Vicky Young. Nothing about the events and service we deliver will be changing at all whilst she is off caring for the new addition to her family.
As I am sure most of you will know, the next Chamber Expo is under a week away and we are now in our final stages of preparation for the event. Exhibition stands have completely sold out and we are expecting over 800 people on the day, along with 200 for the networking breakfast that will kick proceedings off. It is going to be a great day and we can’t wait to see all of you who are coming to the Three Counties next Wednesday.
When our minds aren’t being completely bombarded with Expo thoughts, we are busy finalising the events schedule for 2015. We must say, even though we may be a little biased, that this year has got so much to offer, especially with a number of new events that we have added to the calendar. Two new events that we think will get people excited, especially the foodies amongst you, are the Pizza Club and Wine & Cheese Nights that are starting over the next few months. I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear that we have had no shortage of offers to help out at these events from our colleagues in the office!
We are also pleased to announce that as of March 2nd
, we will be accepting entries for the 2015 Chamber Business Awards. Last year saw more entries than ever, making us realise the true extent of how many incredible businesses we have within our membership. The awards are an amazing chance to showcase your business firstly on a Chamber level, but, potentially, on a regional and national level if you progress through into the regional and national awards, just as Titania Ltd – one of our most-innovative members - did last year. They eventually won Small Business of the Year at the British Chambers of Commerce Awards at the prestigious ceremony held at the Tower of London.
The next event that we are pleased to introduce is the ‘Chamber of Secrets’ Treasure Hunt which is being held on Thursday 14th
May on the infamous cobbles of Worcester city centre. The event is for local businesses who want to network and connect with other local businesses whilst celebrating the history and culture that makes Worcester such a special place.
That concludes our first events blog post. I am sure that we will see plenty of you over the coming weeks and months at various events, but never hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
Thanks for reading!
Vicky & Olivia.
