Date: 17/08/2016

Hello everyone,

Did you know that 93% of attendees surveyed at our last Business Expo made completely new contacts on the day - 85% of which are expecting to do business with them in the near future?

So, what makes a successful Exhibition Stand?

Exhibitors at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber Business Expo, sponsored by Hewett Recruitment, tell us how much they enjoy the energy and buzz of our event. To help our exhibitors prepare for the big day and make the most of their time, we prepare a pre-show pack to help them but I wanted to share some of our top tips that we have found to help you make the most of your exhibiting experience:

1. Keep your stand simple and fresh - Don't be tempted to overload visitors with information.

2. Stand in front of your exhibition stand - sitting behind a stand creates a barrier. Visitors feel more comfortable about coming to your stand if you stand in front of it.

3. Graphics should be visually clear and convincing - never assume that visitors will know who you are and what you do.

4. Be true to your brand - When looking at what to include on your stand and how it looks, make sure you are taking your brand into account.

5. Consider using visual aids to showcase to potential visitors - such as examples of your products, or a presentation of your services on a PC or TV – the more interesting and innovative the better!

6. Inform your current clients that you are exhibiting - As well as making new relationships, exhibiting is a great opportunity to build on existing ones. – You can request an ‘I’m Exhibiting At’ logo from the Chamber Events Team to add to your email signature.

7. Try something different! - We have seen some interesting stands over the years to get attendees engaged – including competitions, a roulette table, a selfie booth, a race car simulator and mini golf!

8. Smile! - You will be amazed at the amount of stand-holders who look like they have lost the will to live after a few hours at an exhibition.  A smile is free and can make your visitors feel very welcome.

These tips can be applied to any Exhibition or Showcasing event, feel free to take them with you! I look forward to seeing you all at the Expo on 6 October at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern – for more information click here.

All the best,
