Sponsored by Thorne Widgery Accountancy

This forum operates at family friendly hours, allowing attendees to network outside of school drop off and collection times. The event continues to prove very popular with Herefordshire business people and allows for plenty of networking whilst listening to informative and interesting speakers on a variety of business topics.

Speakers – Melanie Denning and Matthew Allder, Courtyard Centre for Arts
Topic - How CSR can help your business and how you can work with us to improve your CSR profile

Helping customers love you! - Melanie Denning, Fundraising Manager, The Courtyard
Or ‘a little corporate social responsibility (CSR) goes a long way! Using a Courtyard case study, Melanie will illustrate how incorporating even a small amount of CSR into your annual business’s marketing/comms strategy will help you build and strengthen your brand identity and, ultimately, bring you new customers who are more likely to trust you and, therefore, be enthusiastic about championing you to others.

Understanding your market - Matt Allder, Audience Development Manager & Business Club coordinator, The Courtyard
This has always been a key aspect of sustaining and growing a business and is as important in the Arts as it is in the commercial sector. Due to the unique nature of artistic products, you might expect many of the marketing practices we use at The Courtyard to differ from that in commercial marketing. As Audience Development Manager at The Courtyard, I look into the obstacles we face in generating new audiences/customers and how to implement strategies to overcome them. Many of these practices are relevant to – and could be integrated into - a commercial marketing strategy. I will look at ways to improve the management of your own customer relationships and how to locate new target markets and, therefore, customers.
